Happenings lately

Owen has become quite the independent boy. He insists on doing things himself now and most of the time its great because then i have more time to get things done around the house. When getting ready to leave the house, he will get his coat, boots, mittens, hat and snowpants all on without much help. When I'm in a hurry it is sometimes frustrating to wait for him, but overall it's nice seeing how independent he's getting.

We registered Owen for kindergarten last week. Since then i've noticed a huge change in him. When we go to public play areas on the days that he's home with me, he has no problem playing with unfamiliar kids or leaving my side shortly after we arrive. Up until a couple weeks ago he would still stick to my side until he was comfortable with his surroundings.

Owen is continuing with his skating lessons and is slowly getting better. He's definitely not quick, but it's coming. He looks like a little grannie shuffling across the ice!

Benjamin is a joy to have home with me every day. He is full of smiles and happiness all the time. He is slowly getting more confident with reaching for objects on the ground while sitting, and he's about to move onto all fours, and probably within a month will be crawling. I'm certainly not in a hurry to have this happen! Benjamin completely adores Owen. His eyes grow big and a huge smile appears on his face whenever he hears Owen or sees him. There has been no jealousy at all from Owen towards Benjamin so let's hope it stays this way!
