A rainy Thursday

Owen and i have pretty much kept inside this week. Today it's raining and Owen's grandpa and i just finished putting the second coat of paint on the living room and dining room walls while Owen sat and watched. He's so easygoing sometimes that i even forget that he might need some attention. One of these days he's going to learn to crawl or maneauvre (spelling??) out of his chair and then it'll be a big wake up call for me.

Here's a picture of Owen eating his grandpa's ice cream sandwich for lunch. He definitely has a sweet tooth like his momma.

Best friends

Owen has always adored Bailey. I wouldn't say Bailey adores Owen yet. It's more like Bailey tolerates Owen now because it's like she understands he's not going anywhere. I'm sure a time will come when they're best of friends. I think the two of them had a moment yesterday and i actually caught it on camera. For the last while Bailey has started stealing Owen's toys, socks, shoes or whatever else she can get her paws on. She does this just for attention and i know this because after she's got the object in her mouth she prances around the room like she's bragging. It's hilarious but sometimes really annoying because i can only wash a toy a couple of times a day before i get frustrated. Anyway, I had just finished taking a pair of socks away from Bailey and i gave them back to Owen when i caught him handing them back to Bailey. The look on Owen's face was priceless - it was like he was saying "if i give you these will you be my friend?"

Teeth are coming!

Owen has been drooling and sucking his bottom lip constantly the last few days which makes us think two little teeth on the bottom are about to pop through! There have been two little bumps there for awhile now, but the bumps have changed recently so i think it'll be any day now. He hasn't been especially irritable, except for Friday when he was totally not himself. No getting up in the night or anything so we're hoping this will pass without any drama. I can't wait to see my little guy with teeth! Just when you think he can't get any cuter....he will!

A wonderful long weekend

We had another wonderful weekend at the cottage with our families. The men accomplished a lot - they (almost) finished the shed, took down two trees without having them fall on the cottage, fixed a chair and painted the dog blue. Owen was as happy as can be and even happier after we gave him some encouragement (via a suppository) with his pooping problem. Bailey got into the blue paint and managed to get a bee mad enough to sting her. She couldn't sit for a few hours because her tail was so swollen. All in all, most of us had a great weekend!
