Owen: "Momma?"

Momma: "Yes, Owen?"

Owen: "Hi."

Momma: "Hi, Owen."

And he says it with a great big grin on his face. So sweet.

We're back...

....although we haven't really been away. Life is just busy these days and when we're not busy we take advantage of the nice weather by making ourselves busy outside. Owen and i had a nice weekend this weekend as it was just the two of us. Daddy went on a boys weekend and enjoyed some time away, although i'm sure he missed us!

What's new with Owen these days? Well, i'll tell you! He is a wild kid right now. Food has some magical power with him and as soon as he has a meal or snack he is go go go! He runs everywhere and screams with delight and 'talks' non-stop. He laughs at himself constantly which is hilarious! He has a couple of new teeth but it's hard to notice since he isn't bothered by them and his mouth is full of teeth now. Every morning when he wakes up he stands up in his crib and starts saying gently "Momma.....momma.....momma..." and sometimes if that doesn't work he'll then start with "dadda?? dadda?? dadda??". It's so cute. I practically run to his room to get him because I ache with wanting to cuddle with him at that point. He is just the sweetest, most wonderful child i could ever have imagined having! Owen got a hold of my eye liner one morning. He was quite proud of himself but ended up crying because it took a lot of scrubbing to get it off before we went to daycare!

Making friends at the Bowmanville Zoo today. This baby goat came right up to Owen.

Owen had some fun today with his favourite thing to play with.....water (or wawa as he would call it). Unfortunately, his doggie got dunked several times and he wasn't able to sleep with him tonight because he's drying off.

Good friends, good times at the cottage

The weekend started early for some of us this weekend. We drove up to the cottage on Friday afternoon and met our friends Andy, Jackie and Adaline there. Owen and Adaline played all weekend and really started to get used to each other by the end. Adaline even jumped extra high in her jolly jumper when Owen came close! Here are some photos we're so glad to have. We can show the kids what great times we had when they were just little!

Pictures from lately

On the weekend we were introduced to a new member of our extended family - Milo. Owen fed her some of his raisins and then they were best buds.

Owen's Grannie and Grandpa B gave us a little toilet so we set it up in the bathroom just for fun. Owen immediately knew what to do with it and insisted on sitting on it! I feel ridiculous encouraging him to use it because he's only 18 months old! He's having fun so we're just going along with it for now.

Owen now thinks every food we put infront of him is 'hot' because he now understands what it means. He gently picks up his plate (versus just bringing his face down to the plate itself...) and blows little spit bubbles all over the food. Then it's not 'hot' and he allows himself to eat it.

A day off from the daycare

Owen spent the day at Grandma and Grandpa's house today instead of at daycare. He got lots of one-on-one attention and had a great time, apparently! While Owen had his nap his Auntie Andrea went to the store to buy this swimming pool so they could cool down in the afternoon. How spoiled is he!?! Owen did eventually get in.
After his busy day we took him to his first of five swimming lessons this week. He screamed as soon as we got into the changeroom so he must have remembered that part from many months ago when we had him in swimming lessons. Once in the pool with daddy, he had a great time.

The Zoo!!

Today we got up bright and early and went to the Toronto Zoo. It was a beautiful day and we had no other plans so off we went! Owen's favourite animals were the lizards. He laughed and laughed when they ran quickly around their spot at the zoo. After a few hours we came home and Owen slept for two hours while his momma slept too!

A realization

Tonight as i downloaded some photos from my camera i realized that my little baby isn't a baby anymore. I took this photo on Tuesday because i thought it was cute seeing all of Owen's little shirts hanging on the clothesline to dry. But now as i look at it on the full computer screen i realize his clothes aren't small anymore. They're getting bigger and bigger just like he is. It makes my heart hurt to see him grow so fast....
