Christmas should be cheap

Owen has loved gadget-type things to play with for a long time now. Cell phones, blackberries and especially remote controls. Scott recently got his bill for his blackberry (for work!) and saw that it was $200 over his usual total. He realized Owen had dialed a long distance number and the call went on throughout a whole night!
We've already told our family to just wrap up any old remotes or cell phones in big boxes and he'll be more than happy. Here he is this weekend receiving an early Christmas present from his grandpa.

A record!

Scott got up early for hockey practice this morning and i woke up at about 8 a.m. surprised that Owen hadn't yet woken up. He ended up sleeping until 9 a.m. and only after i starting putzing around his room! He went to bed last night at 7 p.m., so that's a 14 hour sleep!

Oh, and Owen asked me to wish his daddy a happy birthday! We love you!

Busy day

Today we had lots on the go and Owen is tired and yawning as i write this. First, we had a backstage pass to a Sharon, Lois and Bram show in Whitby this morning. Owen was more mesmerized with the gadgets and remote controls his grandpa showed him more than the actual show. Then we went to the grocery store where i picked up a lot of things for him. We seem to run out of diapers, food, wipes, etc. all at the same time so the bill seems huge, unfortunately. Tonight we have swimming so i'm sure Owen will love it.
Here's a picture of him as i write this. He's emptying the bag of toys and then filling it up. Hopefully this will last for a while longer so i can get some things done around here!

I'm standing!

Owen has started to stand when we place him infront of objects. His little legs have been so weak up until now, so we're very excited for this development! Here he is tonight standing in the bathtub while Scott watches.

Sunday morning

Owen was up early this morning due to a big party in the neighborhood so Scott and i are already tired. He seems to be back to his usual talkative, sweet self so we're glad. Here's the family this morning after our breakfast.

Update

Owen has a throat infection even though he's acting like his normal self today. He's on antibiotics (which he loves!) so hopefully it will clear up this weekend.

Owen was not himself yesterday and it turned out he had a slight fever for the first time in his young life. He went to bed fine and slept through the night but today he's still a bear. He doesn't want to do anything - sleep, play, sit or let me stand still when holding him. We're off to the doctor this afternoon because i'd rather be safe than sorry! He's sleeping right now but is constantly murmuring in his sleep so i doubt he's going to wake up feeling rested.
