Back by popular demand...

Owen hasn't really let me update my blog lately. He has decided he doesn't like his chair anymore for more than a couple of minutes and that's how i would occupy him while i write on the blog. Here are a few things that have been happening lately:

Owen is gaining weight quickly. He was 15.4 lbs at his last dr visit and he's been sleeping more lately so i think he's working hard at growing and is well over 16 lbs now. Apparently he's in the 50th percentile for weight, so we're happy with that even though we're really not overly concerned about things like that. He's outgrowing his clothes at a rapid rate - he's usually wearing 9-12 month clothing now.

He can easily hold himself up while sitting in our laps. We even bought him an excersaucer, which he loves!Owen's hair has suddenly got curly. He must get this from Scott. He's had a sort of mohawk all week. It's the cutest thing! You can see it in this picture of him:We're beginning to think about the hunt for the right daycare for when i go back to work. My heart just aches thinking about going back to work and leaving him with some stranger. I try not to think about it because i still have over 6 months to go, but...

Tomorrow we're going to register for Starfish swimming classes! I've wanted to take Owen swimming for the longest time but wanted to make sure he was ready. He is now ready that's for sure. He loves his bath time and can easily hold his head up. The only thing scary about swimming class for me is that i'll have to put a bathing suit on....! Yikes!

This and that...

Here are some pictures from the past week.
Owen's having fun discovering new things and wearing summer clothes for the first time. We had a visit from Owen's friend, Emma, so i hope her mom doesn't mind i posted a great photo of her to share...!

New outfit

I splurged yesterday and bought Owen a new outfit at the Gap. Holy cow the prices are outrageous there, but that didn't stop me apparently! Owen just loved it so i couldn't pass it up. Here he is enjoying his new attire!

Today we put our season pass to use and spent the morning at the zoo with Nan. What a fun time we had! Here are some pictures from Nan's new camera. Owen especially liked seeing the fish in the big aquarium. We'll be back there soon!

Highlights from our weekend

Owen kept with his new nap schedule this weekend and seemed to love sleeping in his crib, so the week was a success i'd say. We spent Saturday morning at MapleFest in Bowmanville with Beppe, Grandma and Auntie Andrea while Scott painted the garage door for the new owners. I ended up getting a migraine Saturday night so Scott handled getting Owen fed and to bed on his own while i tried to cope. Sunday we spent with both sides of our family after we did some much needed housework. Even the most simple, uneventful days are such fun with Owen right now. He's so entertaining and loveable to say the least! Enjoy the photos!

Success this week with naps

Owen has never liked to nap in his crib so i've let him take his naps either on the couch or in his chair. We figured we couldn't let it stay this way, so this week i prepared myself for a rough week of getting him used to his crib for his naps. The first day i let him fall asleep in my arms and then put him down in his crib and he slept for an hour! Two hours later he did the same thing! Each day since then he has had no problem with his crib and has actually been sleeping longer. I just hope it stays this way...! Here's a picture of Owen and Scott tonight.
