Almost complete!!

We are thrilled we have now been able to move back into our kitchen! All the cabinets and countertops are in and we have begun to cook meals once again!! There are a few finishing touches that will take awhile to finish, but the look we were trying to achieve is pretty much there. We are still waiting for the pendant lights and beverage fridge to come in, and there are two cabinet doors on order we're told, and we need to buy some bar stools. The boys are loving their new open space and continually drive their cars around and around the island.

More progress!!

Big changes went on today while we were at work! Most of the cabinets are in (without fronts or counter tops), so we were able to see what it will look like shortly!

Progress

The last few weeks have been slow for the kitchen renovation. All of the behind-the-scenes work is now finished and we were able to install the hardwood floors yesterday. The installers come on Wednesday to start the cabinets. The most exciting part of the latest developments is that we are now able to sit in the new kitchen space when we eat our meals instead of cramming into the living room. Here are some pictures:

Kitchen renovation begins!!

The boys (and their parents!) have had an exciting week around here. The kitchen has finally begun to be re-done!! We let the boys draw and make a mess of the wall before the drywall was taken off the next day, although it's been difficult to explain to Benjamin that there was only one wall that was allowed to be written on and that it was only for one evening...!

The wall was supposed to come out this coming Monday, but late this afternoon we had a call from the contractor saying that his truck broke down and he won't be able to get here until Thursday now. And so it begins...! Hopefully we have enough patience to get thru the next couple of months.

Owen is growing up way too fast. I barely remember when he was as old as he was in these pictures...!

Fourth birthday and Christmas

The last few weeks have flown by like they usually do in December. Owen turned four years old a week before Christmas and so we had a couple of parties for him. The first was with a few of his friends here at the house. They all went skating at the next door neighbours' skating rink and then ran around the house constantly until it was time for everyone to go home. We managed to fit in some birthday cake somewhere in there. We had our families here for a party the next day and Owen had a blast.

Christmas was a blur but i managed to take a few photos that turned out. Enjoy!

Student of the month!!!

Owen was recently named Student of the Month for his entire JK/SK class! He received the award for being an honest and helpful student. Scott and I were able to go to the assembly when he was to receive the award and i managed to get a few pictures. He was so brave! When his name was called he went all the up to the front of the assembly (with over 300 kids sitting there) and shook the principal's hand and posed for a picture. He was so proud of himself afterwards - it was the proudest moment of our parenting lives yet!
